Accuracy 1st and Staccato Ranch have partnered up to offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to take a civilian course with Todd and Colby Hodnett at Accuracy 1st’s facility in Canadian, TX.

Todd and Colby Hodnett focus almost exclusively on military training, working with some of the most elite shooters, units, and militaries in the world. While Accuracy 1st offers civilian courses, they aren’t offered or taught directly by Todd and Colby and have never been offered at the Canadian facility. This is a truly one-of-a-kind offering for anyone looking to learn directly from the best precision rifle trainers in the world.

Classes are limited to 14 people. Members are allowed to bring one non-member.

Who it’s For

This course is exclusively available to Staccato Ranch Freedom members and has been designed to fit the custom needs of each shooter, from beginner to advanced. Accuracy 1st designs and tailors its classes to cater to each individual’s needs and ensure that every shooter gets exactly what he or she is looking for.

What to Expect

Classes will be two days (Saturday & Sunday) on location at Accuracy 1st in Canadian, Tx.

Most mornings will be spent in the classroom covering ballistics. Nothing will be overlooked, and all questions will be answered. The goal of the class is to give each shooter knowledge of ballistics and how every variable of ballistics works within the constraints of DA, ballistic combinations of BC SD variations and MV ES and SD, and weapon capabilities to determine hit probabilities.

Todd and Colby will cover weapon and caliber choice, including ammo selection, for hunting or target shooting as well as reticle and and scope manufacture choice. Laser rangefinder selection and usage will be covered as well.

What You’ll Learn

This course is customized to each shooter’s needs and will ultimately be a customized coaching session that blends beginner and advanced techniques to ensure each shooter gets what they need from the course.

Some of the topics that will be covered include:

  • Everything associated with long range
  • Safety & Shooting Fundamentals
  • Breakdown of the rifle – pluses and minuses
  • Caliber selection – pros and cons and how to evaluate
  • Scope selection – MOA vs Mils, reticle choices, etc…
  • Understand scope manipulation and what happens when you turn a turret
  • How to mount a scope
  • Ballistics – Basic level, Internal, External and Terminal
  • Mils, MOA, Ballistic, BDC
  • Using & getting the most out of ballistic computers
  • Body position – better control of the rifle for aiming and recoil management
  • Wind – How to read wind and how to adjust for it
  • Zeroing
  • Accuracy 1st formulas – Custom Wind – Speed Shooting

Cost, Travel, & Accommodations

The class is $350 per person per day. The total per person cost is $700 for the class.

Accommodation, ammo, food, and travel are not included in the class price. Guns can be provided at no cost, you just need to supply ammo for your course.

Gear

  • Rifle with scope – any scope will do (rifle and scope can be provided at no charge if needed)
  • 300 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Sunscreen and weather-appropriate clothing for hours outside shooting
  • Notebook or notepad and pen

Instructors – Todd & Colby Hodnett

Todd Hodnett is considered one of the most respected and sought-after instructors in the world. With 20 years of experience, Todd has traveled the world training soldiers in the art of precision shooting. In addition to understanding (and being instrumental in developing) the technical side of long range shooting, Todd uses a practical approach in training the long range student in the science and math of the discipline. His determination, knowledge and vision has guided products to improve the accuracy and function of the long range shooter.

Accuracy 1st Canadian Facility

The Canadian, Tx facility is a high wind option and offers multiple ranges on 27,000 acres as well as a potential offering of an optional 50-mile gun run!
