These two critical requirements are: \n-extremely refined and efficient grip \n-acquiring that grip from concealment\, properly\, rapidly\, and consistently \nWe will push the distances from 5 to 25 yds with progressively more challenging targets; the addition of movement; and more aggressive time standards. \nThis approach will demonstrate the tremendous capabilities of those handguns\, despite some dimensional challenges. \nThis course will be shooter and gun specific\, with individual instruction\, repetition\, and challenging courses of fire. \nThis methodology is well vetted and routinely used to achieve technique and skill refinement in the most efficient manner. \nThe course is the culmination of 2 years and 25k rounds of experience shooting multiple different micro-compact models. That was executed with various optic and iron sight setups for the micro size category of guns\, which are currently the best sellers nationwide. \nThese include P365. G42/43x/48\, Springfield Hellcat\, Canik MC9\, and Arex Delta M. The performance capabilities of these small guns are vastly understated and underappreciated\, and they are often looked at as a 70% solution vs a mid\, or full-size handgun. \nThis course is for those who routinely carry them and desire to take their skills to the next level. \nCourse requirements: \n• Handgun in caliber 9mm or larger comparable in size to a G43x/48 or P365 (if you want to shoot a .380\, contact us for gun suitability) \n• Kydex holster \n• 1 magazine pouch intended for concealment \n• Minimum 4x magazines of 10 round capacity or more\, or 6 magazines if less than 10 rd capacity) \n• Belt suitable for concealment (Tenicore Zero belt is the standard in my opinion) \n• Minimum of 500 rds. of training ammunition with a recommendation of 750 rds. Mike spent 25 years in the Marshals and 21 years in SOG. During his tenure as SOG Cadre\, Mike was responsible for the shooting and entry programs as well as overseeing Tactical Operations.  He participated in and lead missions across the United States and its territories as well as several overseas deployments to Iraq\, Afghanistan and other counties abroad. \nPrior to his time in the US Marshals\, Mike served as a uniformed Sheriff’s Deputy\, a Narcotics Detective and a United States Border Patrol Agent. \nMike was instrumental in the adoption of the Staccato 2011 by SOG and has 20 years of experience shooting\, carrying\, and instructing with the 1911/2011 platform. Mike’s passion for all shooting disciplines carried throughout his career and continues today.

DESCRIPTION:D5 – Handgun Signup\nDisruptive Science\, or D5\, is designed as a foundational course to accelerate the learning curve of all students regardless of background or experience level. The majority of courses within the shooting community simply focus on the gun. Our multiday course formats focus on the science of the human body\, brain and handgun performance. Handgun shooting and performance has its own unique challenges due to the weapon system itself and how we integrate that system into the mechanics of the human body. The D5 curriculum takes a deep dive into all of the human factors that affect both learning and performance. DESCRIPTION:D3 – Sharpening – Handgun Signup\n\nDisruptive Environment\, or D3\, is designed as an advanced applications course to accelerate skill-set development for experienced shooters. The curriculum is relevant to anyone from the responsible armed citizen\, to active MIL and LEO. Shooting performance can be subdivided into fundamentals\, skill-sets\, and tactics. For reference\, our D5 curriculum focuses on the development of a solid foundation in fundamentals and human factors\, where the D3 curriculum moves more into the development of next level skill-sets in low-light/no light\, vehicles/cover considerations\, home/business defense\, and urban vs rural environments. This multiday\, advanced applications format\, integrates light/illumination techniques (both handheld and weapon mounted)\, movement\, communication\, and shooting\, into decisive actions. The course includes lectures\, demonstrations\, deliberate practice models\, and multiple exercises where students will be challenged to combine techniques that work for them into solutions that can potentially save lives. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWarning\n\nThis course should not be selected if you have not been through a foundational course with us (D5/D7 Courses) or another reputable organization/instructor. All advanced application students must have fundamental weapon safety and weapon manipulation knowledge. A baseline assessment on safety\, speed\, accuracy\, manipulations\, and movement is conducted upon arrival to determine if students current skill levels are adequate to safely proceed through the course. He has numerous POST certifications\, and real-world experience in patrol\, swat\, and plain clothes operations. He has conducted hundreds of swat missions including dignitary protection\, ship boarding/water operations\, high-risk warrant service\, hostage rescue\, and fugitive apprehension.

His father is a former law enforcement officer and always taught Riley the value of firearms and proper gun safety. Riley has been hunting since a young age and got into competition shooting in 2015 when he was 14 years old. He immediately fell in love with the idea of competing with firearms. Over his time thus far in shooting sports\, he has competed in matches not only across the nation but also around the globe. He won his first national title early in 2019 and earned his first gold medal at the 2019 Rifle World Championship in Sweden. He plans to continue shooting\, along with helping and teaching new students of the sport\, and can’t wait to see what the future holds. \n  \n
