DESCRIPTION:D5 – Handgun Signup\nDisruptive Science\, or D5\, is designed as a foundational course to accelerate the learning curve of all students regardless of background or experience level. The majority of courses within the shooting community simply focus on the gun. Our multiday course formats focus on the science of the human body\, brain and handgun performance. Handgun shooting and performance has its own unique challenges due to the weapon system itself and how we integrate that system into the mechanics of the human body. The D5 curriculum takes a deep dive into all of the human factors that affect both learning and performance. Once we develop a greater understanding of the body and brain\, we then progress to the application of the handgun including thinking\, shooting and overall manipulation of the system. \n  \nGear Requirements \n\n\nWeapons\n\n\nPrimary weapon system (Handgun) dependent on course selection\nMinimum of 4 magazines for each primary and secondary weapon\nMinimum of 1000 rounds of ammunition for primary\nWeapon maintenance/cleaning Tools\nWeapon light mounted on primary weapon system for lowlight courses\nSuppressors for weapon systems (optional)\n\n\nEquipment\n\n\nHolster with adequate retention for dynamic movement; OWB or IWB (*Please vet your holster retention)\nBelt appropriate for supporting magazine carriers\nMagazine carriers/pouches (Belt mounted and / or Chest Rig)\nNight observation device(s) for night vision courses\nHandheld flashlight for handgun lowlight courses\nChest rig (optional)\nPlate Carrier (optional)\nExtra batteries for all equipment\n\n\nPersonal\n\n\nEye Protection for live fire courses\nHearing Protection for live fire courses (Electronic hearing protection is highly recommended)\nHydration carrier\, and water to sustain the length of the course.\nNote-taking Materials (Pen/paper\, digital devices\, video recording\, etc.)\nSharpie marker for range work for live fire courses\nSunscreen/Bug Spray for live fire courses\nGloves and knee pads for live fire courses (optional but recommended)\nRange/weather appropriate clothing for live fire courses\n\n\n  \nTraining course cancellation/refunds/exchanges are subject to the following Terms and Conditions: \n\nTraining cancellations must be requested no later than 30 days from the date of the training course. There will be NO REFUNDS given if a registrant cancels or requests a refund less than 30 days before the training course start date;\nDue to the limited spaces available in each course and the travel requirements for many of our students\, training courses are refunded with a 50% cancellation fee (i.e.\, training courses are only 50% refundable after enrollment);\nRescheduling/Exchanging an enrolled training course to a later date may be available upon request\, but remains subject to the 30-day policy stated above;\nIn rare circumstances\, Haley Strategic Training may need to cancel a course/event. If this occurs\, individuals registered will be contacted and refunded in full;
